JoAnn Scordino of Organize for Action is a Community Disaster Planning Consultant based in San Francisco.
JoAnn’s lifelong passion for living simply in concert with our earth’s natural resources, preparing for Mother Nature’s unexpected events and community organizing, has been the driving force in her emergency management career.
She believes in inspiring the average citizen to live the message of preparedness, sustainability and contribution every day.
For the last eight years, she has provided her expertise and services to local, state and national organizations particularly in the area of inclusive disaster planning – empowering, planning with and for, people with disabilities, older adults and anyone who might have some type of access or functional need during emergencies.
JoAnn has been the Chair of the Great CA ShakeOut: Seniors and People with Disabilities committee since 2010.
JoAnn is a credentialed Certified Emergency Manager. She has spoken internationally at the IAEM World Disaster Managers Conference in Naples, Italy.
At the Global InterAction China-US Emergency Medical Services Conference in Beijing, China, JoAnn Spoke and most recently at the International Disaster & Emergency Resilience conference in Florence, Italy.
JoAnn is also a contributing author of the book, Get Organized Today.
